Youth Band

After a brief period of inactivity, we are currently working to re-establish our youth/training band. Additionally, we will also be restarting the provision of brass tuition in order to support this new initiative - in this way, we hope to address any identified shortfall in the number of brass tuition places on offer within local schools.

As before, we intend that the band will meet for a 1 hour rehearsal at 6.15 pm every Thursday (i.e. before main band) during term time. The band also has in place a small fund for providion of financial support to youth members who wish to attend the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland summer course (usually at St. Andrews).

The photographs on this page show our previous youth band at rehearsals - our current principal trombonist and assistant principal cornettist (still presently "youth" members) are both in these pictures - proof of the value of a youth band!
