Where We Are! |
||
| At Tayport, we like to think of ourselves as a friendly band, so if
you've just moved into the area and are looking for a band why not come along
and see how you like us! (and if you're here on holiday, we're always pleased
to welcome visiting players who want to come along for a blow). We're situated close to the Universities of St. Andrews (10 miles), Dundee and Abertay (both 5 miles), as well as Elmwood College in Cupar (9 miles), so if you're planning to study here and want to continue with your brass playing, you'll find a welcome at Tayport (several of our present members are students from these establishments). At the present time, the band meets on Mondays and Thursdays at 7.30pm, with additional rehearsals at other times when preparing for contests. Please check first if you're planning to come for a blow over the summer holiday period, since we sometimes cut down to just the the Thursday rehearsal at this time. The maps below show our location in more detail. |

If
you're coming from the Tay bridge end, follow the main road into Tayport.
Maitland Street is on your left just past the school and a church - you'll see
the Gregory Hall at the top of the street. Coming in from the St. Andrews end,
you'll see the Gregory Hall on your right - Maitland Street is first right at
the hall. Turn into Maitland Street and park towards the bottom - you'll see a mini roundabout there - the band hall entrance is on the left of the mini roundabout at Mailand Street's junction with Rose Street. (If you need a more detailed map of the area, visit MapQuest if requested, enter Maitland Street for the street name and Tayport for the town - you don't need the post code!) |
